Four General Dynamics business units will be exhibiting at AUSA 2022 in Washington, DC, next week.
General Dynamics Land Systems (booth 801) will showcase the AbramsX, a technology demonstrator for the next-generation MBT, featuring reduced crew size, a hybrid powerpack, MUM-T and autonomous capabilities and enhanced AI-enabled lethality, survivability and mobility. StrykerX brings a similar ethos to the Stryker family, while the Stryker Leonidas showcases a high-power microwave-centred counter-electronics capability. The TRX Breacher demonstrates obstacle-reduction capabilities on a 10t class robotic chassis, and visitors to the booth can expect a significant focus on the Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) vehicle, for which GDLS was recently awarded an initial low-rate production contract. Autonomous Vehicle Sustainment – moving from a reactive to a predictive maintenance regime – will also be up for discussion.
General Dynamics Mission Systems (booth 1106) will demonstrate a live training solution for the Mk19 weapon system and will also show how the Google Anthos platform has been adapted to support operations at the tactical edge. A C2 capabilities demonstration will focus on battle management solutions that empower tactical commanders, and a detailed look will be offered at the company’s Integrated Mission Planning and Airspace Control Tools (IMPACT) solution. A wide range of C4ISR solutions, including satcom-on-the-move, Common Hardware Systems-5 (CHS-5), EW training systems and the Shadowcat radio will round out the business unit’s comprehensive offerings at the show.
General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems (booth 827) will highlight the Iron Fist active protection system (in collaboration with Elbit Systems), the XM1210 artillery system that seeks to achieve ranges over 70km from a 58-calibre gun, and the one-shot, shoulder-launched Individual Assault Munition (IAM), which pretty much does what it says on the tin!
And General Dynamics Information Technology (booth 1106) will round out the corporation’s posture at the show by focusing visitor attention on its self-explanatory Digital Engineering Environment and slightly less transparent but no less important ‘Zero Trust’ programme, which seeks to accelerate competent cybersecurity efforts across the federal government. Also prominent will be Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (ICAM), the DoD’s premier access management solution, and Common Hardware Systems-6 (CHS-6).
